Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine Children's Hospital is forming an affiliation with WVU Medicine Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital and Glen Dale, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital to enhance care in the area for children, WVNews reported Oct. 15.
The affiliation aims to provide better care to infants, children and adolescents close to home in a more affordable way, according to the article.
"As WVU Medicine makes final preparations to open the new WVU Medicine Children's Hospital, we at Wheeling Hospital could not be more proud of our affiliation and what it has brought to the children of the Northern Panhandle," said Douglass Harrison, president and CEO of Wheeling Hospital. "Keeping our kids close to home is our top priority, and the services offered in the region by WVU Medicine Children's have done just that."
