Executives at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas, and North Texas Community Hospital in Bridgeport have formally signed transfer of ownership documents, meaning Wise Regional is now the owner of 35-bed NTCH, according to a Wise County Messenger report.
Most employees who worked for NTCH have become part of the Wise Regional system as well, according to the report.
In February, Wise Regional emerged as the only buyer of NTCH, which filed for bankruptcy last year. A bankruptcy judge approved Wise Regional's sale Feb. 4. Wise Regional plans to make several investments in NTCH, including upgrades to the HVAC system, an electronic health record system and additional training of employees.
