WellCare of Georgia, a subsidiary of Tampa, Fla.-based WellCare Health Plans, formed a value-based partnership with Oakhurst Medical Centers in Atlanta.
WellCare of Georgia and Oakhurst will use the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set to determine healthcare quality. They will also use CMS' five-star rating system to measure healthcare quality.
"Quality-based reimbursements represent the standard of care and collaboration between managed care organizations and providers," Roman Kulich, region president of WellCare of Georgia and South Carolina, said. "Our partnership with Oakhurst Medical Centers aims to deliver quality care in an effort to improve and sustain positive health outcomes for our members."
Oakhurst provides care to about 3,500 WellCare of Georgia policyholders.
