Kalispell, Mont.-based Logan Health, a six-hospital system, and Billings Clinic will merge Sept. 1 after receiving regulatory approval, according to an Aug. 3 news release.
As a combined, independent health system, the organizations believe they will be better equipped to sustain and grow services to meet the patient needs in Montana and Wyoming.
The newly combined system will be governed by a 10-member board, with five individuals from Billings Clinic's board and five from Logan Health's board. The board chair will be from Billings Clinic and the Vice Chair from Logan Health.
Craig Lambrecht, MD, president and CEO of Logan Health, will serve as CEO, and Billings Clinic CEO Clint Seger, MD, will serve as chief physician executive.
Integration teams are identifying operational synergies and opportunities to improve quality, access, coordinated care, patient experience, employee experience and provider experience. This integration is expected to take 12 to 24 months.
"We are alike in many ways and have a collective vision for what we can do together to close care gaps, recruit and retain talent, develop solutions to meet patient needs and advance our legacies of clinical excellence and serving our communities," Billings Clinic CEO Clint Seger, MD. "We will be focused on connecting the rural communities between us and around us to improve care coordination while striving to keep care as locally as possible."
