Washington Health System looks to expand network

Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners has entered into an agreement with Washington (Pa.) Health System to transfer ownership of Southwest Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg, Pa., to WHS.

The three organizations will now enter a period of due diligence. It is anticipated the transaction will be completed by July 1.

Gary B. Weinstein, president and CEO of WHS, said, "Southwest Regional Medical Center and Washington Health System have historically been the leading providers of health services to Greene County residents. The proposed transaction will enable the physicians and other health professionals at both organizations to coordinate care for these residents more effectively and efficiently."
