Washington (Pa.) Health System has completed its previously announced acquisition of Southwest Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg, Pa., from Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners.
WHS announced it was looking to expand its network and add SRMC in May. At that time, Gary B. Weinstein, president and CEO of WHS, said, "Southwest Regional Medical Center and Washington Health System have historically been the leading providers of health services to Greene County residents. The proposed transaction will enable the physicians and other health professionals at both organizations to coordinate care for these residents more effectively and efficiently."
With the deal completed, Southwest Regional Medical Care will now be branded Washington Health System Greene.
