Day-to-day operations of Tucson-based University of Arizona Health Network have been signed over to Phoenix-based nonprofit Banner Health, according to an Arizona Daily Star report.
Banner is currently in the process of acquiring UA Health Network, and the deal is set to close Jan. 31. With the merger deal almost completed, on Jan. 6 the Pima County Board of Supervisors signed off on the transition of UA Health Network's leases and contracts to Banner, according to the report.
UA Health Network includes two teaching hospitals, the UA Medical Center and three health insurance plans.
