King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services has agreed to purchase the minority ownership interests held by a third-party in its six Nevada hospitals for $445 million.
The hospitals involved in the transaction include: Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas; Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas; Spring Valley (Nev.) Hospital Medical Center; Summerlin (Nev.) Hospital Medical Center; Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, and Henderson (Nev.) Hospital, which is currently under construction.
"This transaction reflects our continued confidence in the performance of our hospitals in the Las Vegas market and, in particular, our enthusiasm for the opening of our newest hospital in Henderson, Nevada, later this year," said Alan B. Miller, CEO of UHS.
