UC San Diego Health has ended negotiations for a potential partnership agreement with Tri-City Healthcare District in Oceanside, Calif.
In late April the two parties had shared that they were still working on the agreement, which was initially expected to be complete in March.
UC San Diego Health presented Tri-City with a final revised offer on July 24, but no agreement could be reached, according to a UC San Diego Health July 26 news release.
The financial recovery and growth plan featured in the final proposal included a $100 million cash infusion over the first two years along with a credit line to help protect Tri-City's financial stability for the first five years of the agreement.
Tri-City's assets and liabilities would have been transferred to UC San Diego Health under the final proposal, with employees transferred to UC San Diego Health by the fifth year.
The final proposal included a five-year clinical program growth plan, which comprised comprehensive cancer services with clinical trial and sub-specialty service access. Tri-City's neurological, cardiovascular, behavioral health and pregnancy services would have also been included in the plan.
Lastly, Tri-City would have seen infrastructure enhancements, capital equipment investments and Epic electronic medical record adoption.
"UC San Diego Health remains committed to serving the communities of North County and is continuing with planned expansions of patient care services," the release said.
