Medical Center and PinnacleHealth System in Harrisburg, Pa., has received approval from the Penn State Board of Trustees to acquire St. Joseph Regional Health Network from Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives.
Penn Health's proposed acquisition of St. Joseph Regional Health Network, which includes a community hospital and 15 ambulatory care centers in Berks County, Pa., will now be reviewed by the Federal Trade Commission, the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Catholic Church.
"This agreement will effectively position us to meet the future healthcare needs of the community," said John R. Morahan, president and CEO of St. Joseph Regional Health Network.
