1. Prime Healthcare receives approval to convert Rhode Island hospitals to nonprofits following $1M fine
The Rhode Island Department of Health Health Services Council unanimously approved Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services' proposal to convert Woonsocket, R.I.-based Landmark Medical Center and North Smithfield-based Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island into nonprofit entities Tuesday.
2. CHI: Sale of KentuckyOne facilities to be delayed through June 2018
Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health's sale process to divest several of its facilities will reportedly continue through June 2018, according to Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives' recent quarterly report, released Tuesday.
3. LHC Group, Almost Family to merge into 781-facility home health behemoth
Lafayette, La.-based LHC Group agreed to enter into an all-stock merger-of-equals transaction with Louisville, Ky.-based Almost Family Nov. 16, following a definitive merger agreement unanimously approved by the boards of directors for both organizations.
