Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital and Kindred Behavioral Health, part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, have formed a joint venture partnership to construct and operate Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospital.
The $43 million hospital will have more than 200 healthcare employees, according to an April 12 joint news release. The space will span 83,000 square feet and four stories, with 96 inpatient beds and the ability to expand to 120 beds.
Tampa General will provide team member health services, medical support services, staffing, medical staff physician credentialing, a laboratory and security. Kindred will be in charge of day-to-day operations. Tampa-based University of South Florida physicians in the department of psychiatry will provide care, according to the release.
The hospital will break ground in late 2022 or early 2023 and open in late 2024.
