Stanislaus Surgical Hospital, a physician-owned hospital in Modesto, Calif., has entered exclusive negotiations to transfer majority ownership to Sacramento, Calif.-based nonprofit system Sutter Health, according to a report by the Modesto Bee.
Financial details and a timeline for the deal were not disclosed. Sutter's Memorial Medical Center, also in Modesto, laid off 114 employees in January.
