Atlanta-based SunLink Health Systems announced an agreement to sell the 49-bed Callaway Community Hospital based in Fulton, Mo., in a deal expected to close by the end of the year.
HealthMont of Missouri, a division of SunLink, owns the hospital and agreed to sell for $6 million. After mortgage debt repayment, the sale will generate $1 million in proceeds for SunLink. The after tax loss is expected to be about $300,000, according to the report.
SunLink companies own six rural hospitals in the Midwest and Southeast, each of which is the only hospital in its respective community. No further information about the transaction was released.
