Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health and Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Ind., have discontinued their management agreement, although they will maintain clinical affiliations, according to an Inside Indiana Business report.
Monroe Hospital entered into a management agreement with St. Vincent in September 2012.
Under the agreement, St. Vincent managed operations for the hospital including patient experience, physician relations and finance with the goal of increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
The two organizations have mutually agreed to focus on building and developing cardiology and orthopedic service arrangements, according to the report. St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana will extend its offerings for Monroe County patients, and the Monroe community will also have access to the health system's critical care air and ground transport program.
Additionally, Monroe Hospital will continue its partnership with St. Vincent Medical Group, a multispecialty organization of primary care and specialty practitioners, according to the report.
