San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West and Phoenix Children's Hospital have signed a definitive agreement under which Phoenix Children's will receive pediatric cases from CHW's St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, according to a St. Joseph's news release.
Substantially all of CHW's pediatric services in Arizona's Maricopa County will be transferred to Phoenix Children's under the agreement. Most pediatric physician sub-specialists and other pediatric staff will transition employment from CHW/St. Joseph's to Phoenix Children's. The deal is slated to close May 31.
At closing, CHW will have a 20 percent interest in Phoenix Children's and minority representation on the hospital board.
