Rockville, Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health Services of Long Island and St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, N.Y., have acquired a 50 percent stake in Westbury, N.Y.-based Beacon Health Partners — an independent physician network.
Beacon comprises more than 400 independent physicians and has entered into commercial contracts as an accountable care organization. Beacon also participates in the Medicare Shared Savings Program.

Under the agreement, physicians from the CHS physician-hospital organization will be added to Beacon's ACO.
