The merger between South Jersey Health System in Vineland, N.J., and Underwood-Memorial Health Systems based in Woodbury, N.J., should complete this August pending regulatory approval, according to a Press of Atlantic City report.
The organizations began discussing the merger in May 2011, which was expected to complete this spring. However, requests for more information by the state Department of Health and the Federal Trade Commission slowed the approval process. South Jersey Health and Underwood-Memorial supplied the information, and the merger is still under regulatory review, according to the report.
