Through the merger, the organizations aim to attract additional physicians to the area, according to a news release.
"It is a big move; however we are probably behind much of the rest of the state in terms of employment of physicians," said Steve Perkins, CEO of SCKMC, in the news release. "We are hopeful that this demonstrates our commitment to the healthcare of the community, and that we are interested in seeing growth and development of primary care services locall."
South Central Kansas Clinic will operate at Summit Clinic's current location.
