The board of directors of Brawley, Calif.-based Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District has voted to pursue an affiliation arrangement with San Diego-based Scripps Health, according to an Imperial Valley News report.
Through the affiliation, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare would gain access to Scripps' specialty physicians as well as assistance with service line development.
Catalina Alcantra-Santillan, president of the Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District board of directors, told Imperial Valley News, "Our objective is to secure the highest quality and local availability of healthcare in our community. Through our work with Scripps, we expect to achieve that objective."
The two organizations anticipate finalizing an agreement outlining the services associated with the relationship in coming months, according to the report.
