Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, UCSF merge to expand pediatric care

Santa Rosa (Calif.) Memorial Hospital and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital will merge to expand pediatric care services in the area, according to The Press Democrat.

Officials at Sonoma, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health, which operates Memorial Hospital, said pediatricians contracted by St. Joseph Health will team up with UCSF outpatient pediatric services to expand care at MemorialHospital.

The joint venture will eliminate the need for some expectant mothers to travel to San Francisco for neonatal and pediatric care. Officials also said the partnership will incorporate the use of telemedicine for consultation services, allowing patients greater access to pediatric specialists, according to the report.

St. Joseph officials said the venture will be named the Center for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.
