San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo., and Conejos County Hospital in La Jara, Colo., have signed a letter of intent to merge administrative functions under San Luis Valley Health in Alamosa, Colo., according to an Alamosa News report.
The proposed agreement would bring the two hospitals, as well their clinics in four San Luis Valley locations, under the newly-created San Luis Valley Health.
SLV Regional Medical Center partnered with CCH in 2003 to combine resources to preserve healthcare services in southern San Luis Valley. According to the report, expert advisors analyzed the current system and recommended further integration for continued success.
According to the report, a task force of officials from both hospitals formed to address issues associated with bringing the two entities together, such as governance, operations, human resources and corporate structure. The boards of both hospitals are expected to review the task force's recommendations in December.
