San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, Conejos County Hospital Integrate

San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo., announced that it has integrated with Conejos County Hospital in La Jara, Colo., to form San Luis Valley Health.

The new health system has more than 575 employees, more than 60 healthcare providers and five clinic locations in addition to the two hospitals. The integration is designed to benefit the organizations and patients through greater coordination and efficiency. San Luis Valley Health will be governed by a board comprised of members of the former SLVRMC and CCH boards.

As part of the integration, SLVH is adding "San Luis Valley Health" to the beginning of each hospital's name, such that SLVRMC will now be called San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center and Conejos County Hospital will now be called San Luis Valley Health Conejos County Hospital. The clinics will have "SLVH" preceding their name, such that Antonito Clinic will become SLVH Antonito Clinic, for example.
