Clifton Springs (N.Y.) Hospital & Clinic has entered into a partnership agreement with Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System.
The agreement marks the beginning of the process of the hospital becoming a fully integrated affiliate of the health system, according to a news release. Under the affiliation agreement, CSHC will maintain and expand clinical services while also offering its patients access to RGHS expertise.
Additionally, the health system plans to support physician recruitment efforts in targeted service lines in Clifton Springs and provide support and access to services in key areas that will increase the hospital's ability to deliver high-quality care, according to the release.
The hospital and health system unanimously agreed to move forward with an affiliation after independently reviewing the findings from a steering committee of board leaders and executives that evaluated the benefits of a potential partnership.
Leaders from both organizations will now work to create a formal affiliation plan and complete the regulatory approval process, which is expected to take three to six months.
