A Rethink Healthcare Real Estate affiliate has acquired six microhospitals in a joint venture with global real estate management firm Heitman, Rethink said Sept. 14.
All six facilities are branded Baylor Scott & White Emergency Hospital and are located in fully leased buildings in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The properties add up to 189,385 square feet of rentable space.
CIT's healthcare finance business, a division of First Citizens bank, facilitated the $58.9 million acquisition, according to a Sept. 27 press release from the bank.
"Microhospitals are an important innovation in the delivery of healthcare, and we are pleased to acquire this portfolio of quality facilities in an attractive, growing market," John Winer, president and chief investment officer of Rethink Healthcare Real Estate, said the CIT news release.
