Brentwood, Tenn.-based RCCH HealthCare Partners — parent company of Florence, Ala.-based Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital — and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System partnered to construct a comprehensive cancer treatment center, according to the Times Daily.
RCCH HealthCare and the UAB Health System filed a letter of intent with the state's certificate of need board Thursday.
Eliza Coffee Memorial officials said the new facility would enhance treatment options for area patients and allow providers to use UAB's technology and resources.
The facility will be built adjacent to the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, officials said, with UAB operating the facility.
The certificate of need is pending regulatory approval.
