Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health and Greenville, Ohio-based Wayne HealthCare plan to affiliate, according to WHIO.com.
According to the seven-year agreement, Premier Health will make a $13 million investment in the hospital to be used toward the construction of a master facility and renovation of the hospital building. The master facility will include a new obstetrical center, wellness center and a 28-bed telemetry inpatient unit. At the end of the seven-year period, Wayne HealthCare officials will have the option to renew, make changes to or terminate the contract.
In return for its financial assistance, Premier Health will be entitled to a one-third representation on the Wayne HealthCare hospital board, according to the article.
The Wayne HealthCare hospital board will make a decision on the proposed affiliation agreement on March 23, 2017.
"We are proud to be working even more closely with everyone at Wayne HealthCare and the Greenville community," said Mary Boosalis, president of Premier Health. "We are committed to working together and learning from each other to provide more convenient and accessible care options close to home."
