Powell (Wyo.) Valley Healthcare officials voted to sever ties with Brentwood, Tenn.-based hospital consulting and management firm HealthTechS3, according to a Powell Tribune report.
The hospital board unanimously voted June 14 not to renew the contract, which expires June 30. HealthTechS3 has provided management services to the hospital, including the hiring of its various CEOs, since 1992.
The organizations' contract was set to expire roughly a year and a half ago, but officials extended the contract multiple times due to the hospital's ongoing bankruptcy process. Hospital officials filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2016 to address 20 lawsuits accusing a former PVH surgeon of malpractice, according to the report.
Despite cutting ties, the hospital unanimously voted to maintain interim CEO Terry Odom's, RN, contract.
Ms. Odom said HealthTechS3 officials indicated to her "they are willing to discuss providing any services Powell Valley Healthcare might need, outside of management services," according to the report.
