Pineville Community Hospital inches closer to deal with Americore Health, LLC

In a recent press release, Pineville Community Hospital announced they are inching closer to deal with Americore Health, LLC.

Officials want to address recent rumors that a local hospital could shut its doors.

Pineville Community Hospital is open, and hospital board members say they don't expect that to change.

The hospital has served Southeast Kentucky for nearly a century.

"The hospital is invaluable, not just in the fact that it's a hospital and that it saves lives, it generates a quality of life for everybody in this county," said Bell County Judge/Executive, Albey Brock.

Amid financial issues, hospital officials have been hard at work for weeks, trying to make sure it stays open.

"It's been all hands on deck. We've literally been working around the clock," said Jacob Cline, Counsel for the Pineville Community Hospital.

Hospital officials have signed a letter of intent to allow a private company called Americore Health, LLC to take over operations.

One difference is that, while the hospital is currently non-profit, Americore is a for-profit company.

"It will result in additional services, improved technology, and still yield a profit for their shareholders," said Cline.

The hospital is the largest employer of any business entirely within the city limits of Pineville.
