Executives at Phoebe Putney Health System, based in Albany, Ga., have decided to dissolve its affiliation and management agreement with Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Ga., according to an Albany Herald report.
DMC, a 75-bed hospital that had been operated as Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center, will be managed again by the Hospital Authority of Ben Hill County. In July 2011, Georgia's attorney general approved the acquisition. The deal originally covered 10 years, and both organizations could have renewed the long-term lease agreement for up to 40 years.
Officials did not disclose to the Albany Herald why Phoebe Putney and Dorminy Medical Center decided to end their agreement.
