Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Penn., is officially part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center health system, according to a Centre Daily Times report.
The deal went into effect this week. Hamot will be run by a 24-member board — 16 members from the hospital's original board along with eight others picked by UPMC. UPMC is giving Hamot $300 million over 10 years to expand and update technology as part of the deal.
