Orlando Health began its explorations of potential partners last fall, and in February the health system considered several partnership proposals from both for-profit and nonprofit health systems.
After considering all options, the health systems board decided to remain independent. "We realized we have tremendous momentum, that our financial situation has been steadily improving and the most important thing we wanted to do was preserve the culture and the clinical excellence that we've been able to offer since 1918," said Dianna Morgan, chairwoman at Orlando Health, in the report.
