Savannah, Ga.-based Memorial Health and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health are close to finalizing a strategic partnership.
The two health systems began partnership talks in September. This week, Memorial Health's board chairman, Harry Haslam Jr., told the Savannah Morning News, "We're nearing the finish line, but we're not there yet."
Although many of deal's details are still being ironed out, Memorial Health President and CEO Maggie Gill said she expects to be able to share more details about the partnership in March.
Memorial and Novant have a history of working together, as the organizations entered into a shared services agreement in 2012. That agreement has yielded more than $8 million in cost savings, according to the report.
