Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y., is set to join North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Manhasset, N.Y., under an agreement signed by both organizations.
NWH President and CEO Joel Seligman said, "By joining North Shore-LIJ Health System, NWH will directly benefit from stronger clinical information systems, economies of scale, access to capital, and the sharing of knowledge available from a system of community hospitals anchored by well-established academic medical centers."
Under the agreement, which still requires regulatory approvals, NWH and North Shore-LIJ will focus on providing patient-centered care. "Throughout this decision-making process we have remained focused on our responsibility to continue providing high-quality, patient-centered care," said Mr. Seligman.
The agreement is expected to be finalized in early 2015. NWH will be North Shore-LIJ's 19th hospital.
