The Nassau Health Care Corporation in East Meadow, N.Y., has approved an application, for submission to the New York State Department of Health, to obtain $30 million in funding for strengthening an affiliation with North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New Hyde Park, N.Y., according to a Long Island Business News report.
If approved, the plan would give NuHealth access to a $450 million reserve set aside by New York State to assist "vulnerable providers" in restructuring operations for financial stability, establishing collaborative affiliations and improving health outcomes.
According to the report, NuHealth would restructure its care delivery model while also strengthening its clinical affiliation with North Shore-LIJ Health.
