Las Vegas-based Dementia Friendly Nevada is joining with the Reno, Nev.-based Alzheimer's Association and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, also in Las Vegas, in a statewide initiative to help individuals with dementia, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Community members and representatives from the healthcare sector, government organizations and businesses will meet monthly in Las Vegas to discuss ways to help individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
"What we're trying to do is stem the tide, help people learn how to cope with the diseases, help them so they can go out into society and get the help they need," said LeeAnn Mandarino, a spokesperson for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center.
