Salinas, Calif.-based Natividad Medical Center has submitted a letter of intent to Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Hospital in an offer to form a partnership, according to a Californian report.
The letter was not publicly released and will remain a confidential document until there is a signed agreement. NMC is the sole participant in the affiliation process after HCA withdrew last week.
SVMH has been searching for a potential partner for about a year. According to the report, the SVMH board could decide to agree to NMC's letter of intent as soon as July 26; however, a public vote is required for an affiliation.
