Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System will complete its $425 million purchase of Spokane, Wash.-based Rockwood Health System July 1, according to The Spokesman-Review.
Rockwood Health System includes two hospitals — 388-bed Deaconess Hospital in Spokane and 123-bed Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, Wash. — and a multispecialty clinic.
MultiCare agreed to purchase Rockwood Health from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems in November 2016. CHS divested the facilities as part of its plan to achieve financial stability. The purchase was highly supported by local businesses and community leaders.
MultiCare officials have also appointed several executives to lead Rockwood Health facilities in Washington, according to the report.
