Morgantown, W. Va.-based Mon Health System and Grafton (W. Va.) City Hospital have entered into an affiliation agreement that will help the 25-bed community hospital stay afloat.
The agreement, approved by both boards of directors, will help Grafton City Hospital improve financial operations through Mon Health's business support and purchasing power.
The organizations will remain independent.
"The national health care economy is posing significant challenges to many community hospitals," said David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health System. "Mon Health is proud to live up to its not-for-profit mission and its legacy by stepping up to help maintain healthcare choice in the Grafton community."
