Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Miss., has officially become a member of Jackson, Miss.-based Merit Health, which is now comprised of 12 hospitals, making it Mississippi's largest healthcare system.
Under the agreement, WMC has officially changed its name to Merit Health Wesley.
"We are excited about the future of healthcare in Mississippi," said Merit Health Wesley CEO Mike Neuendorf, in a news release. "Merit Health Wesley has earned its reputation as an outstanding provider of medical care in Hattiesburg, and joining forces with a statewide network will allow us to become stronger together."
