Neptune, N.J.-based Meridian Health and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J., have signed a letter of intent explore a merger, and over the next several months the two organizations will enter into a due diligence period to thoroughly look into the financial, legal and clinical issues involved in the transaction.
The two organizations serve patients in neighboring counties, and if a merger occurs, residents in those areas would have more choices for their medical care.
