Merger talks between Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev., and Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems have fallen through, according to a Reno-Gazette Journal report.
Saint Mary's Regional CEO Mike Uboldi said Catholic Healthcare West, the hospital's current operator, and CHS were "unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for the sale," according to the report. Had the sale been finalized, Saint Mary's Regional would have become a for-profit hospital.
The 380-bed Saint Mary's Regional is continuing its search for a buyer.
