Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Mednax acquired Salt Lake City-based Western Newborn Specialists, a private neonatal physician practice.
The acquisition adds to the number of services Mednax provides to Utah residents, including neonatology, maternal fetal medicine, OB hospitalist and radiology services.
The acquisition was a cash transaction and is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings.
