Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Mednax acquired Overland Park, Kan.-based Midwest Perinatal Associates, its fourth physician practice acquisition of 2017.
Midwest Perinatal Associates is a private maternal-fetal medicine physician practice specializing in care for expectant mothers. The practice provides services such as ultrasounds, fetal non-stress tests, genetic counseling and screenings, among other services.
Brent Finley, MD, will serve as medical director of the practice.
The total value of the all-cash transaction was not disclosed.

"Further, Mednax's nationally recognized research, education and quality initiatives will help us expand our vision for best practice protocols in maternal-fetal medicine."
Earlier this year, Mednax acquired physician practices in Utah, Tennessee and Texas.
