The Mayo Clinic Care Network, created by the Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, signed a formal agreement adding Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health to the more than 40-member network.
The agreement will facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the two organizations to enhance the delivery of healthcare to Lakeland patients.
As a member of the network, Lakeland physicians and hospital staff will have access to Mayo facilities, technology and equipment. Physicians can conduct virtual consultations with Mayo Clinic specialists, access the Mayo Clinic Care Network database to diagnose a wide variety of medical conditions and access to eTumor Board conferences, where physicians present and discuss complex cancer cases with Mayo Clinic physicians and representatives from other hospitals.
