Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine and Palos Health, in Palos Heights, Ill., have signed a nonbinding letter of intent to explore ways to expand their partnership.
The goal of the negotiations is for Palos Health to join Loyola Medicine. The systems formed an academic affiliation in 2015 that allowed Palos to expand clinical services, including a telestroke program that brought Loyola's stroke specialists to Palos Hospital and streamlined trauma transfers.

"By fully integrating with Loyola Medicine, we will enhance our clinical strength, increase our flexibility and provide our community with more comprehensive care across an expanded region."
