Longmont (Colo.) United Hospital, a nonprofit community hospital, has officially joined Englewood, Colo.-based Centura Health.
The two organizations signed a letter of intent to join forces in November 2014, and the boards of directors of both entities and state and federal regulators have approved their definitive agreement.
"The relationship better equips Longmont United Hospital and our community to navigate changes in healthcare, while continuing to deliver the high level of quality care we have provided since 1959," said Mitchell Carson, president and CEO of Longmont.
The Centura Health network now includes 16 hospitals in Colorado and western Kansas.
