Franklin, Ind.-based Johnson Memorial Health and Franklin Community Schools have agreed to a five-year partnership, according to a Daily Journal report.
Here are five things to know about the agreement.
1. The Franklin Community Schools Board of Trustees approved the agreement Monday evening during a school board meeting.
2. Under the new agreement, Johnson Memorial Health will give FCS $200,000 to help boost its programs, and the hospital will be able to advertise inside and outside the high school, according to the report.
3. Johnson Memorial Health will also be considered the official healthcare provider for Franklin Community Schools in promotional materials, according to the Daily Journal, which cites the contract.
4. Additionally, the agreement will support FCS' school nurses program for the next school year, officials said. Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, Johnson Memorial Health will directly employ FCS school nurses.
5. Rick Kester, director of ancillary services at Johnson Memorial Health, expressed excitement about the agreement in a news release. "Through our working relationship, and by adding the school nursing component, our partnership only strengthens the potential community impact we can have," he said.
