Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa, has officially affiliated with Iowa Health – Des Moines, a senior affiliate of Iowa Health System, effective Feb. 1.
The announcement means Story County Medical Center, a 17-bed critical access hospital with two campuses, has ended its affiliation agreement with Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines (Iowa).
Under the new agreement with Iowa Health – Des Moines, Story County Medical Center will still be locally governed, but it will now fall under the Iowa Health provider network.
Todd Willert will no longer remain as administrator and CEO of Story County Medical Center. Iowa Health – Des Moines will name an interim CEO and find a permanent CEO within the next three to four months.
