Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System plans to develop the Inova Center for Personalized Health on Exxon Mobil's 117-acre Merrifield campus, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The property has four office buildings, which Inova would use to house a long-planned cancer center and a new research hub "that would combine a medical school with laboratories and Inova's high-profile Translational Medicine Institute," according to the report. The facility will be aimed at brining in patients from across the U.S., Inova CEO J. Knox Singleton, told The Washington Post.
Inova expects to close on the purchase in the next five years, but meanwhile, will lease the property, according to the report.
